The General Investigation Section's primary responsibility is to respond to major crime scenes and to conduct follow-up investigations once the uniformed officer has conducted a preliminary investigation of a crime. This officer will develop and follow "leads" before the case is submitted to the Crown Prosecutors Office for disposition.
