Regular monthly Strategic Planning Committee meetings have been ongoing in Stellarton since January 2007.  The number one priority identified by the town’s recently approved Strategic plan is the revitalization of the Main Street area.  Some issues that are recognized by the Committee that need to be addressed are: façade programs; potential funding options; establishment of a Downtown Business Association and revisiting existing relevant bylaws.

The Committee also recognizes the need to highlight the fact that the main business area of the town already has excellent parking facilities for 110 free spaces behind the Town Hall and 90 free spaces along the main business area of the town.

A survey has been circulated to all businesses in the Main Street Area of the town to request feedback on ways we can improve and develop our Stellarton Business Area. The committee appreciates and awaits the responses of the businesses to this survey.

The committee is very closely analyzing the existing Strategic Plan for the town and determining what the immediate and long-term priorities should be. The committee is very encouraged about the potential for a revitalization of the business area in our historic town of Stellarton. All citizens are welcome and encouraged to offer their input and assistance in this exciting venture.
