The Stellarton Police Service has been involved with Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers since its inception in 1987, and have been working hand in hand with the Pictou County Crime Stoppers Community for the last twenty years. 

The Pictou County Crime Stoppers Community is very active in their attempts to educate the public about the Crime Stoppers program.

Crime Stoppers promote the reduction of crime through community-based efforts to provide the appropriate authorities with information needed to lay charges against those responsible.

Crime Stoppers endeavors to encourage the community to assist local law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime.

The Stellarton Police Service Communication Section is the answering service for all of the Mainland Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers calls.  The information received from these calls is passed on to the appropriate Police Authorities to act upon.
