Mission Statement: The Stellarton Police Service is responsible for maintaining law and order, enhancing community safety, to inform and support the community, protect life and property and to investigate crime. The Stellarton Police service takes great pride in the Service we afford our citizens and visitors. Officers and employees work and train diligently to prepare for any call which may require our response. The Department consists of 19 employees including sworn and civilian members, along with three Auxiliary members. Stellarton government leaders have always realized that a secure environment is essential to maintaining a good economy and strong community. These Government leaders have never failed to provide the guidance and resolutions necessary to accomplish our goals. The Town of Stellarton is a most desirable place to live. The objective of the Stellarton Police Service is to maintain a strong community commitment to quality law enforcement and maintain our community as an exceptional place to reside.

Established in 1889, the Stellarton Police Service maintains peace, order and security to the Town of Stellarton. The Stellarton Police Service is also responsible for preventing crime and disorder, apprehending offenders, and bringing the offenders to justice, and addressing the fears and concerns of its citizens with respect to crime and disorder. The Stellarton Police are also responsible for the management of several crime prevention programs, such as Neighborhood Watch, Block Parents, Video Ident, Business Security, Drug Awareness, Fraud Alert, Home Security, Shoplifting and as well support youth programs in the Town of Stellarton. The Chief of Police is the traffic authority in the Town of Stellarton, and is responsible for future transportation planning within the Town. Certificates of Appreciation
