Residents are proud of their heritage, possess a strong sense of community and often describe their community as friendly.  Stellarton is experiencing tremendous growth.   The development of the Highway Commercial Business Park located at Exit 24, is soon to be home to Pictou County’s newest hotel.  Other projects include the opening of the Highland Sports Complex, revitalization of the Allan Park, upgrades to the town’s water treatment facility in compliance with new provincial standards, as well as upgrades to the water and sewer in the Valley Woods subdivision allowing for 70 to 80 additional building lots.  The G.R. Saunders School has recently completed a 4.6 million dollar upgrade providing many additional amenities for our children.  Work continues on reclaimed land with future plans for a residential development on 95-acres off Foster Avenue and Council is encouraging the development of student and senior housing. 
If you are a resident here, we ask you to become involved in making this community even better by volunteering with a local service club or your children's school, participating on one of the Committees of Council such as the Communities in Bloom, Strategic Plan Implementation, Planning Advisory, or the Homecoming Festival.  
Stellarton is truly a great place to live and work, and is a vibrant and enterprising town.  Working together we can continue to build for the future.
