The Stellarton Town Council conducts its business in a Committee of the Whole system.  Under this system of governance, the Town Council meets twice a month.  The first meeting of the month (first Monday at 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise posted) is the Committee of the Whole meeting.  The second meeting of the month (second Monday at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise posted) is the regular Town Council meeting.

Meetings are open to the public and are held in Council Chambers, second floor of the Town Hall, 250 Foord Street.

The Town Council, through appointments, participates in other Boards, Commissions and Committees, for which there is a public interest and/or there is a commitment of public funds to their operations.
